As Molly and I get this bakery underway, we are spending happy afternoons testing--and tasting--new recipes. While I love a sweet and decadent slice of cake as much or more than the next person, heartier treats rich with nuts, fruits and whole grain have a special place in my heart. One I'm especially pleased with is our Plum Filbert Bar. Brown sugar, oats and hazlenuts are layered with thick, homemade jam I made from our friend's plum tree abundance. We're excited to share--before we eat them all ourselves!
